A worm hob is designed based on the worm shaft specification. There are no standards for worm gear hobs.Generally this hob is manufactured as ‘ZK’ type. 

Since the overall dimensions of the hob are determined by the worm shaft and worm wheel data, please specify the following data when ordering worm wheel gear hob: 

1. Normal or axial module, DP

2. Out dia or pitch dia of worm
3. Worm lead angle
4. Number of threads and hand of thread
5. In case of shank type, shank standard
6. Contact ratio (Non-Standard): Standard contact ratio is generally
20~30%, and users can select either hole or shank type. 

Module, DP and CP series Hobs are supplied by Jiangxing Tools.

Various forms of Hobs such as non-topping,semi-topping, topping, finishing, roughing, pre-shaving or pre-grinding, with or without protuberance, tip relief , full fillet radius etc., are manufactured.

Multi start Hobs, Multi gash Hobs and Drycut Hobs are also supplied.

Designing & Production of Gear Hobs-both involute and parallel sided, Sprocket Hobs, Worm Wheel Hobs, Serration Hobs,Timing Belt Pulley Hobs and Ratchet Hobs are done at Jiangxing Tools. They are either custom-made or to suit international Standards.Both bore type and shank type Hobs are made.

Hob material is generally AISI M35 (6-5-2+5%Co). On special request, Hobs made in powder material (ASP2030, ASP2052,S390) and TiN, TiAlN, TiCN and AlcronaPro coated Hobs.Normally, accuracy classes are as per DIN 3968 Standard AA, A & B. However, Hobs are made to suit other accuracy Standards also .
